Recent challenge on Asian stamp/seal design

Recently I took one challenge on stamp/seal design which is completely new to me. One client requested me to design a stamp using traditional Chinese seal carving techniques. But the key point is that the design should express something from an ancient civilization or Asian Totem period. Comparing to general Chinese stamp, this design should be more complex and symbolic, meanwhile integrating some specific art elements/patterns designed by the client. Also, the design should be handmade not a CG or AI generated image.

This is quite a good challenge for me. Although I have been dedicated to Chinese seal design for over 20 years, Totem like design is not a simple task because it contains lots of elements and cultural symbols. It was a good opportunity for me to learn and do a research on Chinese ancient Totem and patterns again.

It is very nice to hear that the client was quite satisfied with the design. It was also a good experience for me to retouch the world of great traditions.
